HEREFORD CATTLE

The Society is staging THE 24TH  NATIONAL SHOW OF HEREFORD CATTLE

(Horned Section of H.H.B.S.)  and a separate Schedule is available on request

 

 CATTLE SECTION

ENTRY FEE:  £5 PER ENTRY.     PASSPORTS must accompany Cattle to the Showground

 

PEDIGREE BEEF BREEDING CATTLE

Any Continental or Native Breed (excluding Horned Hereford Cattle) (To be split if sufficient entries between Continentals and Natives).  Judge: Mr D. Bell, Kenilworth

Prizes:  Classes 1 - 3:  1st =  £40;  2nd  = £25;  3rd = £10

CLASS 1 – BULL, any age to be led (N.B. two handlers required for bulls over 2 years old)

Separate penning will be available for sheep from  Maedi Visna Accredited Flocks.  Please mark clearly on the Entry Form if your flock is MV accredited.  A Green S.A.C. Certificate of Status Form must accompany all accredited sheep to the Showground.  In addition, exhibitors are requested to forward a copy of the S.A.C. Forms with their entries.
Exhibitors must observe Blue Tongue controls in force at time of the Show.

N.B.  All sheep must be accompanied to the Show by an AML1 Sheep Movement Licence and all exhibitors must collect an AML1 Sheep Movement Licence from the Livestock Secretary’s Tent before departing from the Showground.

SPECIAL RULES APPLICABLE TO LIVESTOCK CLASSES

(SEE ALSO GENERAL RULES)

 

1.                  The ruling date for the ages of all livestock will be date of the Show, unless otherwise stated.

2.                  No animal may be exhibited in more than one class, unless otherwise stated

3.                  The Second and Third Prizes may not be awarded unless there are three or four entries or more forward respectively.

4.                  All animals exhibited must have been the property of the exhibitor since 1st May 2008.

5.                  All animals must be on the ground one hour before judging commences and remain in the places allotted to them.  Judging commences at 10.30 a.m.

6.                  No animals may be removed from the ground before 4.00 p.m.

7.                  Any objection or protest to be handed to the General Secretary within 30 minutes of the Judge’s award, together with a deposit of £25, which shall be forfeited if the objection is not sustained.

8.                  Any animal may be called out for Young Farmers Stock Judging Competition.

9.                  Any Classes having less sufficient entries may be amalgamated or cancelled.

10.              The Judges decision is final.

11.        All Cup Winners must participate in the Grand Parade

12.       Cup Winners may engrave Cups at their own expense

            TWO PASSES                         for 3 to 5 Entries

            THREE PASSES (maximum) for 6 or more Entries
